On this post I wanted to discuss the development of mobile telephones and the transformation that has taken place with them. According to the online slideshows, the first generation mobile phone was voice and analog only. We've reached a point now where our phones are 4G and HD, able to stream cable services and hold video conferences. The advancement of technology, specifically mobile phones has been beneficial to society and I personally believe it's going to get better. The mobile phone is a staple in the American life today, the multifaceted device is a phone, messenger, tv, alarm clock, and pretty much anything else you want it to serve as. I have Conducted business on my phone, completed assignments on my phone, as well as play some games from time to time. It is all in one, something that started out as a big block phone used to reach someone that wasn't in the same room as you to handheld devices that can complete or assist in any task you need. I learned some new information while reading the online slides and the book, I was unaware of the cell phones in the United States are land based, while many other areas of the world use satellite for their mobile phone connection. The many faces of communication has provided the world with a sense of connection from anywhere in the world. It has also increased communication and made it better. According to Lin and Yu, The term “media richness” refers to the richness of communication media that can pass through a number of information channels. MRT initially focused on information in organizations and the process by which media selection affects organizational structure. The richness of a communication medium refers to its capacity for immediate feedback, multiple cues, language variety, and personalization. The lower the level of richness, the more difficult it is to quickly communicate, develop an understanding of each other's viewpoints, and resolve differences.
